Welcolme to my Blog - i am Maxine Bowler i am once again standing in Burngreave in the Council elections on the 3rd May.I am an anti Cuts activist and am part of the stop the war Coalition.
The cuts are damaging our community destroying our sevices and creating mass unempoyment across the ward.They are being pushed through by a nasty condem goverment- of millionaires who are looking after their rich friends, but locally implemented f by Labour.
No wounder so many people don't vote - they feel taken for granted as politicians pursue the same old policies.
I believe that no-one stands up for ordinary people.
I am the only person who can unseat labour in the area and it is time they were given a wake up call.
Across our area army recruitment posters have been erected - it seems that their answer to no hope and no future is to try to get our youngsters to go to fight in wars which cannot be won which sacrifices the lives of thousands of innocent people - i call this economic Consription.
Why are we still spending millions on war- when our welfare state and our community resourses are being destroyed by cuts.
Why are we allowing the rich to get away with Billions in tax evasion, when a whole generation of people are facing mass unemployment, lack of funding for further education.
It is a disgrace that older people who have worked all their lives now face attacks on their pensions.
And as for our NHS- it is the envy of the world- but it seems that politicians think this is another area in which they can make profits by privatising it to death.
I will fight for more money and funds for the area, . I will ask you what your street needs what your children need, what you need, and together we will fight the council for it.
I want to see a new politics in Burngreave a politics with everyone included nobody excluded. For to long the main parties have treated the people of this ward with complacency and contempt. It's time we had a rebellion its time we voted for something different.
In Bradford we have seen George Galloway elected in the Bradford spring.
NOW It's time for a Burngreave spring.
